The Method
A suit answers the question before it is asked.
Most men shop. A few men brief. The difference shows up in the shoulder, the break, and how long a room waits before deciding what you are worth.
Cloth is selected for the room it will enter, not the season it was woven for. Structure is added where authority is needed and removed where ease is worth more. Everything else is restraint.
The house rule: if it needs explaining, it failed.
A garment that requires a story is a garment doing your talking for you, badly. The correct outcome is that nobody compliments the suit. They compliment you, and cannot say precisely why.

Silver case, clean dial, worn slightly loose. It is not there to be seen. It is there to be checked once, briefly, at the right moment.

Pocket square, cufflinks, a single ring at most. Anything beyond that is a costume.

The coat is the first thing the room sees and the last thing it remembers. Long, dark, unfussy.
